Propositions for Information Management within the scope of the Natal Military Air Base: contributions to the decisions-making process
Information Management; organic information; information flow; decision-making process; Computerized Archival Management System of Air Force Documents - SIGADAER; Natal Air Base.
It deals with propositions of information management as a contribution to decision-making within the framework of the Natal Military Air Base. The general objective is to analyze information flow in Natal´s Military, in the use of their Computerized System of Archival Management of Air Force Documents, with a view to proposing information management strategies in this context. This objective was operationalized through the following specific objectives: characterize the Protocol and Archive Section; identify noise and main barriers in the process of electronic document processing and access to organic information for the decision-making process in the informational flow; produce the Standard Rule of Action (NPA) for the Electronic Document Processing Process; map the informational flow during the processing (receipt and dispatch) of electronic documents in the Air Force Document Archival Management Computerized System (SIGADAER); and prepare an electronic document management plan for the implementation of information management processes within the Natal Air Base. To substantiate this proposal, it the research deals with information flow and management, decision-making. It presents its origins and objectives and describes the models when applicable in the context of the Organization. To contextualize the theoretical framework, it indicates the history of the Natal´s Military Air Base and the System under analysis. The methodology is descriptive and exploratory, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. As a case study, it includes a bibliographical, documental, and observational research method. For data collection, a questionnaire with closed and open questions will be used with nine Operators and structured interviews with eleven Commanders. Regarding data analysis, Bardin's content analysis was used, as well as simple descriptive statistical analysis for quantitative data. With the results of the data analysis, it was possible to produce the Standard Action Rule for the processing of electronic documents and the Electronic Document Management Planning. It concludes that the objectives were achieved in their entirety and that the results can contribute to improving the use of the System, that the alignment of the informational flow of the processing of electronic documents can enable access to organic information in a way that is a resource for the process of decision-making, and that the procedures adopted can contribute to the management of information within the scope of the Natal Air Base and be a reference in other Military Organizations in the country and/or public and private institutions inserted in the same context.
