SUMMARY:

Information is an intangible asset of great value to organizations, and its management has become indispensable for the creation of competitive advantage, both in the private and public spheres. However, the excessive amount of information makes its management complex, mainly for the creation of knowledge, and consequently for intelligence. Information is present in any company action, being inherent to organizational processes. The alignment of information and knowledge management with process management is an increasingly common practice. In this context, the integration of Business Intelligence and Business Process Management tools can contribute to efficient organizational management. Given the above, the present study aims to propose a Business Intelligence solution, aligned with a standardization of processes through Business Process Management, which optimizes the use of materials available in the warehouses of the academic centers of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The methodological approach to be used is based on the inductive approach method, and the monographic and comparative procedure methods. The research is characterized as mixed, as quantitative and qualitative collection instruments will be used. A documentary research will be carried out from reports extracted from SIPAC, and from spreadsheets available in each sector studied. Mixed-type questionnaires will also be used, with open and closed questions, which will be applied to the coordinators of each warehouse. Semi-structured interviews will also be carried out with these actors, with the objective of obtaining information for mapping processes through flowcharts. In the data analysis, it is intended to make use of descriptive statistics, both for documental research and for the closed questions of the questionnaires, where the results will be presented through tables and graphs. In the open questions and in the semi- structured interviews, it is intended to use the qualitative data analysis process as well as data triangulation. With the results of the research, it is expected to standardize the processes inherent to the warehouses through the use of Business Process Management, integrated with Business Intelligence, to optimize the management of materials available in the institution, in order to avoid waste.
