INFORMATION MANAGEMENT IN PROGESP: a case study about the use of Instagram for UFRN's communication with its employees.
Information management. Organizational communication. Instagram.
The continuous development of information and communication technologies, as well as increasingly widespread access, result in enhanced production and dissemination of information. Consequently, its significance for contemporary organizations increases, drawing the attention of managers, professionals, and researchers to the subject. Public institutions, as non-profit organizations, provide significant services to society, both for their internal and external users. Therefore, efficient management of informational flows is essential for decision-making processes, making continuous and effective monitoring of the information produced, made available, and stored crucial, including on social media, which are used as a means of communication. Thus, this study aims to investigate how the implementation of a planned and aligned informational flow in the management of Instagram pages related to PROGESP can strengthen communication with UFRN's employees. The research will be both qualitative and quantitative; regarding its nature, it will be applied research; and concerning its objectives, descriptive and exploratory, utilizing a monographic method (case study). Structured questionnaires will be administered to the target audience of the Human Resources Pro-Rectory (PROGESP) of UFRN; interviews will be conducted with the managers of the Instagram pages that make up PROGESP and focus groups will be held with the Pro-Rectory's managers. Finally, data will be analyzed using Content Analysis techniques.
