Organization manual for documents accumulated in the Department of Pathology at UFRN.
Document Management, Department of Pathology, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.
Information is an interdisciplinary concept that has application in several areas of knowledge. Information began to be seen as a strategic resource to be managed, relating to social progress and technological innovation. This led to a change in Archivistics, which began to focus on document organization from production to permanent storage. In Brazil, document management aims to guarantee access to information, the preservation of memory and administrative transparency in the public and private spheres. The present work seeks, based on the reality of the medical report archive of the UFRN Department of Pathology, to reflect on issues specific to document management, focusing on the possibility of treating and organizing accumulated masses of documents (MDA). The general objective is to prepare a manual that assists the department in organizing and maintaining this documentation. As for the methodology, a bibliographical research was included on fundamental concepts, such as information management, health information management and document management. It also includes analysis of the reports archive, and the search for technical and normative instruments in the UFRN central archive. This study aims to contribute to the creation of a more efficient and organized environment in the Department of Pathology at UFRN.
