Public Communication of Science. Scientific Communication. Scientific Knowledge Management
Scientific communication is an important process for disseminating scientific research results to the scientific community and society in general. However, this process may present some difficulties that do not allow this knowledge to be shared widely and effectively, which may compromise the advancement of science and technology for the benefit of society. In this scenario, scientific knowledge management gains relevance and can be used as a strategy to solve this problem. Thus, this research seeks to map scientific communication practices carried out at the Biosciences Center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in order to propose actions for the implementation of science public communication strategies in this area. The research aims to answer the guiding question: “How to implement a culture of Public Communication of Science by researchers at the Biosciences Center in the light of the precepts of Scientific Knowledge Management?”. To describe and explain the phenomena that will be studied, it will be a mixed research with a qualitative and quantitative approach, of an exploratory and descriptive nature, with the inductive approach method and the monographic procedure method. Data collection will be carried out through interviews and semi-structured questionnaires applied to the leaders of the center's research groups in order to identify and map the scientific communication practices of this community, as well as documentary and bibliographical research.
