SUMMARY:

It addresses information management propositions as a contribution to decision-making within the Air Base in Natal-Brazil. The overall objetive is to analyze tue flow of information within the scope of the Air Base in Natal-Brazil, in the use of the Air Force Documents Archival Management Computerized Systems, with a vierw to proposing informations management in this context. To substantiate this proposal, it conceptualizes information management, information flow and decision-making, presents its origins and objectives, and describes the models when applicable in the context of the Organization. To contextualize the theorical framework, it develops the history of the Air Base in Natal-Brazil and of the Systen under analysis. The methodology is descriptive and exploratory, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. As a case study, it includes a bilbiographical, documental and observation research method. For data collection, a questionnaire with closed and open questions Will be used for nine Operators and structured interviews for twelve Comnanders. Is is hoped that the developed research Project will contribute so that, with the use of the System and the processing of the eletronic document, the availability and Access of information will suport decision-making and problem solbing, and that the procedures adopted for better management of information at the Air Base in Natal-Brazil will be referenced, as needed, by all Military Organizations in the country.
