Continuing education as contributions to the development of informational practices of librarians at the Federal Institute of Paraíba

From continuing education, professionals in general can seek improvement and training, thus becoming an important practice for professionals to keep up to date. This practice is necessary for the professional librarian, since the information flow and the development of new digital technologies grow at an accelerated pace, impacting the daily activities of libraries. Thus, this research aims to investigate how continuing education contributes to the development of informational practices of librarians at the Federal Institute of Paraíba. The theoretical framework is formed by the historical and conceptual contextualization of the themes: continuing education and informational practice, as well as presenting an overview of the Professional, Scientific and Technological Education Network of which the Federal Institute of Paraíba is a member. Descriptive in nature, the research opted for the monographic method and will use the techniques of applying a questionnaire and structured interview. The analysis of data collected from the interview will take place in the light of the Collective Subject Discourse technique. The universe is made up of twenty- nine librarians from the Federal Institute of Paraíba, however the sample will be composed of librarians who work in libraries, that is, twenty-one librarians. It also presents preliminary results obtained from the application of the questionnaire with the research subjects.
