Embroided approach: weaving stories and telling handicrafts with the Fuxiqueiras do Bem (Mituçu, Conde, PB)
Gender, Territory, Education, Art/Handicraft, Quilombola women.
This dissertation investigated the problem of gender, territory and handicrafts in relation to the thinking-knowing-doing of the quilombola women of Mituaçu (Conde/PB), with the aim of understanding how the handicraft productions, specifically fuxico and embroidery, of the Fuxiqueiras do Bem of Mituaçu relate to and influence their experiences as quilombola women. The research was based on a dialog with visual and image anthropology and a feminist anthropological perspective, with free embroidery as the methodological embroidery. The main results of the research are the urgent need to debate the category of quilombola women within anthropology, rethinking the theoretical and methodological contributions and complexifying the reflections on the relationships between quilombola and non-quilombola researchers and communities. Regarding the main contributions, this dissertation leaves room for research that links gender, territory, education and art/handicraft with quilombola people, concerned with social justice and the ethical responsibility of shared scientific practice
