SUMMARY:

This paper aims to analyze the modes of comic production, focusing on its creators:
comic books that produce independently, in the regions of Natal (RN) and João Pessoa
(PB). The ethnographic investment aims at understanding their artistic practices, their
cultural, technical contexts and procedures that make possible the creation of their
drawings. Thus, an approach was made with five resident comic artists from these
cities, focusing on their artistic trajectories. The ethnographic investment aims at
understanding their artistic practices, their cultural, technical contexts and procedures
that make possible the creation of their drawings. Thus, reflecting on the trajectories of
these artist-comic subjects becomes a possible way to mobilize anthropological
reflections on art and its contemporary transformations - in contexts of cultural
globalization -, emerging as a guiding thread to think about the various issues. between
production, creation, working condition and images. In this qualification phase, we will
address the ethnographic incursions about three events on the theme of comics, in the
cities of Natal, João Pessoa and Coremas, seeking to reflect on these symbolic spaces in
which the comics of this research are inserted. It will also be exposed the analysis of the
trajectories of two comic artists and how they practice the act of drawing in their
different logics of creativity. The problematic of this work, still in progress, begins from
the understanding of comics as a cultural artistic manifestation, in which contemporary
practices that provide freedom of experimentation of languages and thematic
motivations, part of the social experiences of the interlocutors, are involved. It is from
the art of drawing that these comic artists enhance their expressivities to other
contemporary contexts that allow a flexibility of creation, through "feedback works",
capitalizing their skills and acting in obliquities in the professionalization of their
creativity.
