NÚCLEOS DE EDUCAÇÃO PERMANENTE EM SAÚDE DA SECRETARIA DE ESTADO DE SAÚDE DO ACRE: ANÁLISE DAS FRAGILIDADES E POTENCIALIDADES

Continuing Education in Health is characterized by the practice of learning in the service, bringing the proposal to face the problems of reality through prior knowledge acquired through life experiences, thus becoming a meaningful learning experience. It has as its premise, for the planning and survey of gaps in the training and development of workers, the health needs of users of the Unified Health System. The implementation of this strategy, in the State of Acre, took place in 2004 by the State Secretariat of Saúde do Acre, with the creation of the Department of Education and Research, there are currently 10 Centers implemented. Thus, this research aimed to analyze the process of implementation and development of the Centers for Continuing Health Education in the State of Acre, its weaknesses and potential. This is an exploratory descriptive study of a qualitative nature, using a semi-structured interview with 10 coordinators of the permanent education centers of the state health units. Two categories resulted from the analysis: Conception of the Center for Continuing Education in Health and Implementation of the Center for Continuing Education in Health. of these and their strengths and weaknesses. It is concluded that, despite the potential identified in the developed actions, there are still several weaknesses, such as the lack of monitoring and evaluation of the EPS activities and the lack of qualification for the professionals who work in the coordination of the centers. Thus, it is suggested that a refresher course on Permanent Health Education be held for the coordinators, to strengthen the process of implementation of the National Policy on Permanent Health Education within the State of Acre, and contribute to the policy of expansion of these cores for units in the interior of the state
