EVALUATION OF THE PERCEPTION OF DENTOGINGIVAL AESTHETICS BY DIFFERENT DENTAL SPECIALTIES: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY IN THE BRAZILIAN CONTEXT
knowledge; attitudes; health; dental aesthetics; gums.
The growing demand for aesthetic treatments requires harmony between teeth ("white aesthetics") and gums ("pink aesthetics"), but the perception of these parameters is subjective and can vary between specialties, hindering interdisciplinary planning. This research project proposes a novel diagnosis of dentogingival aesthetics in Brazil, investigating the knowledge and attitudes of specialists in orthodontics, periodontics, dental prosthetics, and restorative dentistry. Through a quantitative cross-sectional study, an online questionnaire, validated and transculturally adapted, will be applied to assess and compare the knowledge and perceived importance attributed by each group of specialists. The analysis will also seek to correlate the results with variables such as training time and continuing education. It is expected that the data generated will identify knowledge gaps and perceptual differences, providing support for improving professional training and interdisciplinary communication, with the ultimate goal of optimizing aesthetic results for patients.
