TRAINING YOUNG WOMEN THROUGH ACTIVE LEARNING METHODOLOGIES: A CASE STUDY OF AN EDUCATIONAL PROJECT IN THE AEROSPACE SECTOR
Gender inequality. Active methodologies. Education. Aerospace sector.
Gender inequality is expressed by sexism, machismo, and misogyny perpetrated by a patriarchal culture imposed by men on women since the beginning of humanity. In various sectors and cultures of society, women still suffer from a lack of opportunities and space. Thus, education has a transformative role because only through education is it possible to eliminate social gender barriers and transmit knowledge in an egalitarian manner, with awareness and respect. In this context, this work aims to evaluate an educational project that throughout 2023 trained 75 female students from 20 public schools in Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to 15 undergraduate and graduate students who acted as tutors, through actions based on active methodologies focused mainly on the aerospace sector, aiming to disseminate the concepts of astronautics and introduce this topic to teachers and students. Projects like this are extremely important in building a more egalitarian society because they encourage and provide an increase in female participation in the economically active population.
