CIEGES Platform: Contributions for the implementation and monitoring of arboviruses in the state of RN
Keywords: Health situation room, health indicators, educational technology, participatory management, dashboard systems.
Epidemiology is fundamental for health monitoring, enabling the identification of trends and guiding interventions. Indicators organized in situation rooms strengthen real-time surveillance through dashboards and control charts. The CIEGES Network, an initiative of CONASS, advances management by integrating interactive panels, such as the arbovirus surveillance platform of SESAP/RN, whose participatory development increases its legitimacy and institutional ownership. Active listening by teams and continuous education promote the qualified flow of information, while methodologies like CRISP-DM facilitate data structuring. This study aims to promote participatory management to support the implementation of the CIEGES platform at SESAP/RN, enhance arbovirus monitoring, and develop a guidebook to expand its use in other surveillance areas. It also seeks to encourage tool adoption among professionals and optimize processes between epidemiological surveillance and UGTSIC. A qualitative methodological study was conducted between December 2024 and June 2025 with nine technical arbovirus professionals. Two focus groups with semi-structured scripts and thematic data analysis were used to establish participatory management and identify strategies to improve platform use. The guidebook was developed in three phases—planning, drafting, and validation—with experts assessing clarity, relevance, accessibility, interactivity, and visual organization. Effective communication is essential for epidemiological surveillance, particularly in situation rooms as integrated, participatory workspaces. Continuous education and educational resources strengthen this communication, contributing to optimized technical processes and broader CIEGES usage.
