Water is of fundamental importance in the pharmaceutical industry, besides to participating in the cleaning processes of materials and surfaces, can be used as a vehicle in formulations, Requiring in this case, a series of physicochemical and microbiological specifications. The purification process of the water destined to comply with the established purity level must routinely pass through a quality control with rigidity and in accordance with the current legislation. The main objective of this work is the development and implementation of an autonomous and safe automation and supervision system for an industrial plant for the production of Purified Water for pharmaceutical purposes. To achieve this objective, we will firstly the implement of a data communication network, using the RS-485, MODBUS/RTU, TCP/IP and ISOTCP protocols, responsible for the interconnection of systems and controllers distinct from the plant. With a reprogramming of the controllers, the reordering of instruments and an utilization of the implemented communication network, we will centralize all important instrumentation signals into a single "master PLC", and through it monitor and verify all process steps to ensure the quality of the product to be produced. Finally, we development of a supervisory system (SCADA) that will gave the operator a panoramic view of the process, informing in real time the behavior of process step variables. In addition, the SCADA system will store historical
