In mobile communications systems, signals propagate by time-variant multipath channels and are subject the distortion caused by fading and Doppler shifts. In the order to minimize these distortions, diversity transmission and channel coding techniques, such as wavelet coding, can be incorporate. This technique is based on the orthogonality of the wavelet matrix rows, which has the ability to generate diversity gains, increasing the system robustness to fading without decreasing the spectral efficiency of the system. In this work, we intend to implement a wireless communication system based on wavelet coding using the GNU Radio Companion. We seek to investigate the robustness of this coding technique on practical wireless communications scenarios from the use of USRP platforms. Furthermore, the development of this system in GNU Radio Companion will enable the suitability of this coding technique in software-defined radio (SDR). The developed system was validated in terms of bit error rate (BER) on a flat fading channel model.
