Bit Error Rate (BER), Spectral Efficiency (SE) and Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) are extremely important metrics for wireless transmission systems. To meet the BER requirements in modern communications systems, especially in channels with high Doppler spread, the Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation technique was developed. It outperforms Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in such channels by exploiting the delay-Doppler domain for data modulation and channel estimation. Understanding that channel estimation is essential to exploit the full gain of OTFS modulation, this work proposes a flexible channel estimation, using a superimposed pilot sequence, with iterative adjustment of parameters. The proof of concept is carried out through link-level simulation, aiming to explore the proposed solution's flexibility in terms of SE, BER, and PAPR.
