Physical Education; Volleyball; Games and play with hands; Sports Pedagogy.
This work presents research with students from a municipal school in Ecuador, State of Rio Grande do Norte, focused on the teaching-learning of the sport Volleyball, starting from the principle of teaching games/games from the family of ball games with the hands, going back prior knowledge acquired by the students themselves in their experiences since childhood when they played in their homes, on the streets or in squares, expanding their sporting experiences in an educational way. Therefore, in this work our general objective is to develop a pedagogical proposal for teaching volleyball based on ball games and games with the hands. Specifically, we launched the proposal to build a compendium that will serve as a subsidy for teaching volleyball through games and games with hands, for students in the final years of Elementary School; relate ball games and games with the hands as a repertoire for teaching volleyball; and, finally, we present different ways and practices of teaching volleyball based on games and games with the hands. As a contribution to the theoretical framework, we explain what performance sport is; what is school sport; how Sports Pedagogy and Physical Education are important for students' sports culture, as Physical Education is the most important subject in terms of student's body, mental and psychological knowledge. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively. This is an ethnographic and participant-type research, using as a technique for data collection the observation of ball games/games with hands in Physical Education classes, in a total of 20 games/games, and diary records research and observation form throughout these classes that took place at the Escola Municipal Presidente Costa e Silva, located in Ecuador, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. We understand that ball games/plays with hands belonging to the Family of Games/ball games with hands help and facilitate the learning of the sport of Volleyball because it is a game/game that students have known since childhood, in addition to promoting greater participation and integration of students in classes also enable the acquisition of skills capable of integrating and participating in the sport that has become the second most practiced sport in the country.
