Regular Students

PPECO uses the results of the National Admission Test of the Brazilian Association of Graduate Programs in Economics (ANPEC). The ANPEC's National Test occurs annually, most often in September, and covers the following topics: Mathematics, Statistics, Brazilian Studies, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and English. The exam is opened to students of all backgrounds. The undergraduate diploma will be deemed necessary only for enrollment in the postgraduate program. For further information please visit the exam website (http://www.anpec.org.br/novosite/us/the-anpec-national-admission-test).

After the final result of ANPEC's national Admission Test, in the case of residual vacancies, the PPECO does an Internal Selection Test. The Internal Selection Test covers the following topics: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Methods e Brazilian Studies. Students of all backgrounds can apply for the test. The rules of the selection process are disclosed in May and/or December on PPECO's website (http://www.posgraduacao.ufrn.br/ppeco), the Selection Processes tab.

Special Students

The PPECO also admits special students in the classes. Special students can attend at most two courses in two semesters.

The professors decide about the admission of special students in their classes. They can establish their own admission criteria and define the number of special students, respecting the limit of 20% of regular students in the case of obligatory courses and 50% in the case of optional courses. 

The registration for special students occurs semesterly during the recesses (see the Calendar tab of the PPECO's website).  The candidates must send an e-mail to ppeco@ccsa.ufrn.br requesting the registration as a special student of PPECO, attaching to the message copies of the curriculum vitae, the undergraduate diploma (any field), and the passport.
