Requirements for developing tools for querying data from the Higher Education Census

Carried out annually by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), the Higher Education Census is an important instrument for obtaining data to generate information that supports the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of public policies, in addition to being an important element for the preparation of studies and research on the sector. The Census collects information on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), on undergraduate and sequential specific training courses and on the students and teachers linked to these courses. As a way of improving the use of the Census, the present study aims to list requirements for the development of data consultation instruments from the Higher Education Census. To this end, the study methodology is qualitative and Design Science Research will be used. As a product, the study will offer a list of requirements for higher education data consultation instruments that favor decision-making processes.
