IncluBank: a tool for the digital-financial inclusion of microentrepreneurs
Digital Banks; Banking Systems; Microentrepreneurs; Financial Inclusion; Financialization.
In the first four months of 2023, more than 1 million MEI (Individual Microentrepreneur) companies were registered in Brazil. This number represents a 26.2% increase compared to the last four months of 2022. Out of the total active companies in the country, 93% are MEIs. With unemployment and informal employment exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the low-income population needed to find means to generate income during this period. There has also been a growing demand for financial institutions due to the market changes that occurred. In a survey conducted by SEBRAE, 60% of MEIs don't even know how to separate their personal bank accounts from their business accounts, and 67% use apps from traditional banks and fintechs to carry out their financial transactions. Currently, there is no clear and simple tool in the market to assist micro and small business owners in managing their finances in a straightforward manner. This project aims to create a simple, inclusive, and educational dashboard to help this audience manage and organize their finances.
