SUMMARY:

“Do you learn about money at school? I doubt it!" (KIYOSAKI, 2017, p.01). A large part of Brazilians did not have financial education during childhood and this could be causing economic and social consequences. In a survey on financial concepts carried out in 30 countries by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Brazil had a rate of correct answers of 58%, well below the average of 78% (RIBEIRO, 2016). The survey assessed competencies in financial knowledge, behavior and attitudes. Brazil performed poorly in all of them, ranking 27th, ahead only of Poland, Croatia and Belarus. This project aims to develop a gamebook on financial education aimed at children (children aged between 6 and 12 years old). The proposal arises from the need to combine innovation with financial knowledge, making use of technology, creativity and fundamental basic concepts about money, to stimulate, in practice, the monetary learning of children. The development of the learning solution starts from the interaction between two media: digital games and comics books. The analysis of the results will provide a qualitative and exploratory, dialoguing with the perspective in response to the realization of the complexity of social financial practices in partnership with the knowledge involved in the collaborative work between team members and specialized teachers/researchers. As a data collection instrument, an online form sent directly to the ideal customer profile (persona) will be used: Parents, relatives or guardians of the children. The positive impact of this initiative is reflected in the improvement of a new financial behavioral characteristic for children that aims to influence their future economic and social decisions.
