SiCaPi - System for the probability calculation of the impact on vessels by aerospace vehicles
Keywords: probability calculation, aerospace vehicles, free zone vessels.
The System for Calculating the Probability of Impact on Vessels by Aerospace Vehicles, SiCaPi, to be executed by the Barreira do Inferno Launch Center (CLBI), a Military Organization and Scientific and Technological Institution subordinate to the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of the Aeronautics Command, in partnership with the Space Science, Applications and Technology Foundation, consists of updating the computational methods for estimating flight safety parameters of operated suborbital vehicles in Brazilian launch centers, used by the Flight Safety Section to calculate the probability of impacts from aerospace vehicles, or parts of them or their payload, on vessels that may be within the Free Evolution Zone of the Launch Center and, also, for the calculation of the risk to life related to this impact, aiming at meeting needs see in the operational exercises performed at CLBI. This proposal aims to meet the needs verified in the past operational exercises of CLBI, to mitigate the technological gap currently existing in the Flight Safety section, and, mainly, to minimize the sources of errors and human factors inherent to the processes and tasks performed during operations of launching, mitigating the technological gap existing in the systems for estimating security parameters, especially in the software responsible for calculating these parameters.
