SUMMARY:

The present research approaches, by means of an exploratory analysis, the impact of the transformation and innovation that have been taking place in the business ecosystem in the 2019-2020 period on law firms. The innovation is analyzed based on the concepts of multiple authors and in the context of the current brazilian legislation. It demonstrates the importance of a revision in the strategic planning of law firms to face the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and presents considerations about the post-pandemic scenario. As a way to validate and verify the concepts addressed and developed by its authors, the results were applied to the firm Costa Barros Advogados (eCBA) - laboratory for experiments -, transforming it into a case study. The functioning period of eCBA, which spans more than 20 years, has shown the approach to be significant, as the eCBA has promoted its own transformation and kept itself competitive during the pandemic. The period post pandemic-crisis will show if this successful approach will be made into a rule, inaugurating - systematically - a way to promote the pivoting of firms of this type.
