Eco-Agile: framework for the development and application of frugal Eco-innovations combined with Agile Methodologies
Eco-innovation, Agile Methods, Business Sustainability.
The impacts of Climate Change --- such as rising global temperatures, desertification and water stress --- and actions to mitigate them --- such as the Sustainable Development Goals, coined by the United Nations, and the European Green Deal --- resulted in the creation of ESG investment funds (composed of companies with significant environmental, social and corporate governance actions). ESG funds put pressure on publicly traded companies to change their socio-environmental and corporate governance practices while also putting pressure on their supply chain. Brazilian micro- and small companies that are part of or wish to integrate the supply chain of companies belonging to ESG funds have the challenge of limiting capital and investment for socio-environmental and corporate governance adaptations. As of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic was added to these challenges, which also imposed the need for quick adaptations to meet the new market demands. The objective of this work was to develop a framework --- Eco-Ágil --- for the creation and application of frugal Eco-innovations combined with Agile Methodologies. The Eco-Ágil Methodology integrates practices recommended by the United Nations for the implementation of eco-innovations with methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean Culture. As a result, companies that opt for Eco-Ágil's work benefit from the necessary adjustments to ESG funds and from the better engagement and resilience of their teams. Eco-Ágil offers its customers the possibility to adapt their production processes by adopting social and environmental practices and corporate governance practices in a frugal way, in a short period of time and with the engagement of employees.
