SUMMARY:

This dissertation presents as a theme the performance in the teaching of Visual Arts, having as object of research, the dialogical paths of a performance. Intertwined with the students' life contexts, the research aims to understand how the construction and the meanings of these dialogues happen, through a performative artistic action, in the teaching and learning process in Visual Arts. It is constituted within the scope of Youth and Adult Education, with the participation of level IV students, from a Municipal School located in Natal/RN. Methodologically, it is based on a qualitative research from the perspective of A/r/tography, as a living investigation that intertwines life, artistic making, research and teaching/learning practice. Its epistemological links with the theoretical conception of art as Experience, according to Dewey (2010) and Larossa (2015); the Freirian Pedagogy (1996, 2020, 2021) under the dialogical bias; the Triangular Approach systematized by Barbosa (1998, 2003, 2010, 2015, 2019); specificities and possibilities of Performance in Visual Arts according to Melim (2008) and Barbosa (2018). The artistic contribution of the performance actions is anchored in the Parangolé by Hélio Oticica, according to Favaretto (2015) and Waly (2015), among other authors who dialogue with the referred investigation. Although the data are still in the initial interpretation phase, in our first perceptions, we apprehended from this investigation that the construction process of a performative action in Visual Arts, imbricated to the students' life contexts, enhances knowledges and promotes transformations in aesthetic and critical perception of the subjects. The problematization of visualities through this action encourages the dialogue leading to a unique aesthetic experience. We recognize that the performative act as a particular way of body perception, gives meaning to the visualities configured from it in performative action, passing from the narrative to the poetic imagery by the students of Youth and Adult Education.
