SUMMARY:
In the line with the research of the theoretical-methodological approach to teaching practices, this proposal is presented, which is entitled “Quadrinizing in Art Teaching: A didactic proposal for the use of Comics in the final years of Elementary Education” through research and analysis of comic books during Art classes, at the Santa Terezinha State School, located in the city of São João do Sabugi (RN/Brazil), based on the observation of the praxis applied with the 9th grade students, that’s are going through an educational transition to the High School cycle, and that we feel the need to evaluate their knowledge that they had during this cycle of learning about sequential art. For more than a century, comics has been a medium that is present all over the world, in which in the area of education, its language and codes have been used as an aid for educators to promote their classes, with studies not so present yet in the textbooks of the subject in focus. The problem arose from the need to investigate the difficulties where students in a public school encounter in reading this art, in which we develop strategies for students to know the knowledge in the forms of expression in visual arts and their techniques and creation process that were divided between studies of paintings, balloons, onomatopoeia, formation of characters, scenarios, scripts, until the assembly of a final publication, which resulted in a didactic product with reports of these experiences to assist education professionals in their pedagogical planning. Analyzing some works of international and national category and recognizing the influence of different visual styles in the works of different artists is one of the challenges for an educator to present to his students. In the order to substantiate the challenges encountered in this process, we analyzed the thoughts of authors such as Bibe-Luyten (1987), Barbosa (1987), Eisner (1999), Ramos (2018), McCloud (2005), Vergueiro (2010) and other researchers who contributed to the study of art. It is expected that the result of this work will contribute to the importance of using Comics in the classroom, as a thematic axis that can have a critical analysis function of the student and the teacher, where we seek references in the competencies and skills of the National Base Common Curriculum to better disseminate this language, through its representations and works.
