RESUMO:

This project aims to contribute to the practice of pedagogical practices related to indigenous themes committed to scientific research. Pedagogical practices that value and demystify historical events related to the contexts of tribal peoples, in order to disseminate and value their artistic and cultural production throughout the history of Brazil.

In order to do this, we analyzed the ways in which the contents related to this theme were treated in the didactic material available for the National Textbook Program (PNLD) and observed the challenges related to the formation of the image of the Indian in the school environment. A research was also carried out on the history of the indigenous presence in Brazil and its cultural legacy. Based on this analysis, some approaches were formulated in order to contribute to content related to indigenous artistic production being worked in schools in order to have scientific support.
