ARTE DO PATRIMÔNIO: mediação do ensino através de projeto
teaching the arts through the project; heritage education; teaching experience.
This work consists of a reflective analysis from a practical experience of education using the
work proposal for the project as guidance of teaching/learning area of Arts and the theme axis
about heritage education. Are the main fundamentals of the proposed teaching project, and as
this subsidises the teaching of Art in schools from the model indicated by the philosopher and
educator William Kilpatrick in which justifies many of his perspectives on the ideas of the
philosopher and educator John Dewey. Through this model of teaching and learning, is
presented in this work the development of the knowledge about cultural heritage from a
planned project for the purpose of bringing about changes in the traditional Arts classes
questioned by the students, for the approach to heritage education is proposed to be a
reflection from the perspective of two perceptions: the educational process as a mediation
between the cultural heritage, the teaching and the school; and the school as a heritage site.
The project applied here described was carried out with a group of students from the state of
education of the state of Paraíba in the State School of secondary Education Innovator Dr.
Hortênsio de Sousa Ribeiro, situated in the municipality of Campina Grande/PB.
