SUMMARY:

The city is understood as a particle way of organizing the natural space, it attracts and gathers individuals, it builds not only spatial interventions, but mainly specific and complex ways of relating. The urban establishes itself in a dialogical relationship between the built and the lived, brings a clear reflection of the appropriation of its users and consequently contextualizes the processes of subjectification present in it. In this panorama, some categories could serve as a lens for the analysis of the city, for us, one that stands out is the gender category, precisely because it houses the social milestones that define the differences between men and women, as well as denouncing an unequal relationship and hierarchical of power. The organization of the urban space does not escape the imperatives produced in the dichotomous relations of gender, the city finds a way to reproduce these differences. In this scenario, urban mobility becomes a catalyst for these aspects, being able to limit, segregate or prevent the circulation of certain social groups in the city. Considering the magnitude of the studies that have urban mobility as their field of research, methodologically we propose a cut and will analyze the urban mobility of university women regularly enrolled in classroom courses. We consider higher education as a space in disputes, where circulation around the city becomes a necessity and that its access and permanence may be associated with its urban insertion. Thus, we aim to analyze the urban mobility of university women and their effects on access and permanence in higher education, using the concept of gender and the intersectional perspective, in the search to understand whether mobility is a conditioning factor in the evasion or permanence of women in the University education. The research is being carried out in the city of Natal / RN, with women aged 18 or over who are regularly enrolled in a Higher Education Institution in the City, we use an electronic questionnaire and we will conduct a semi-structured interview as an alternative to compose the material that will be analyzed through the Critical Discourse Analysis method. We highlight the important significance that urban mobility had for students, the data produced reinforce the idea that mobility becomes a conditioning factor in access and permanence in higher education.
