Adolescents released from socio-educational system face the same problems they had before being punished, and they also have to handle with the stigma and the prejudice. In spite of this, there is not a systematic program dedicated to these adolescents in Brazil. This study researched the effects of being in probation to adolescents when they were already released from this punitive measure. The data collection was separated in two stages: documentary research and interviews with adolescents. The first stage aimed to contextualise the socio-educational system in Natal in order to comprehend the conditions of the adolescents’ experience in probation. The interviews had the purpose of explore the effects of the probation in the released adolescents’ lives. Both stages data were crossed in order to achieve the result analysis. As results, the experience on the socio-educational system in Brazil seemed to the adolescents like merely punishment. The length of theses punitive measures have been way more extensive than expected. As a result, more adolescents remain tied to socio-educational system. In 2015, just a small number of adolescents concluded their socio-educational punitive measures at the same year. This study shows the violence remains present in their lives after they finish the punitive measures. The adolescents do not make associations between the socio-educational service and the guarantee of their rights, nor between this service and positive changes in their lives. Overall, this situation seemed like injustice for them. This context is allied with the irregular operation of not only socio-educational system, but also all the system of guarantee of rights.
