A contribution to the Teaching of Probability in Basic Education

In this work, we present a proposal for teaching Probability in Basic Education, aiming to contribute to the teaching practice in the classroom. Therefore, a description of the historical and conceptual construction of the definition of the probability function was carried out, and we provided teachers with didactic proposals through the development of workshops and activities. The motivation behind choosing this topic was that, although it is included in the documents that guide education in the country, the teaching of Probability does not effectively occur in basic education, often because teachers in the early years of elementary school do not feel prepared or have not received proper training, and the textbooks are often of unsatisfactory quality.
