RESUMO:

This dissertation deals with concepts and results on linear systems, including matrices
and vector theory of Rn as the basis for a good understanding of approaches. Here
we will deal with operations between matrices, between vectors, their properties,
methods of resolution of the system via Gauss elimination, and nally we present
the LU factorization, which provides another way to solve systems that in some
situations may be more feasible. In order to deal with LU factorization, the results
are mainly required from the theory of matrices and vectors, which will be presented
with their due demonstrations throughout the text.
