The traditional fishing community of Enxu Queimado, located in the municipality of Pedra Grande, in Rio Grande do Norte-RN, since mid-2007, has been experiencing socio-territorial conflicts that expose attempts to advance private real estate companies in the appropriation of the territory. In 2020, taking advantage of the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, these companies were more aggressive, imposing collective resistance on residents. In an attempt to confront the advance of capital, some residents organized themselves into a committee, seeking to articulate partnerships to judicially curb attempts to deterritorialize the community. How has the traditional fishing community of Enxu Queimado organized itself to resist the imminent process of deterritorialization that capitalist companies have been suffering since mid-2007? Seeking to answer these questions, this research aims to analyze the actions of this group characterized here as a socio-territorial movement (FERNANDES, 2005) - which, over time, called itself "Management Committee in Defense of the Fishing Territory" for organization and maintenance of the traditional fishing territory of Enxu Queimado/RN. It is understood that these subjects have the territory as an essential asset for their existence, since the actions only exist because the community claims the territory. Authors such as Raffestin (1993); Milton Santos (1996); Fernandes (2005; 2006; 2007; 2008; 2009; 2014; 2021), Pedon (2003; 2009), Haesbaert (2014), Sobreiro Filho (2013; 2017; 2021); Diegues, (2000, 2004; 2018) De Paula (2013; 2018; 2020) constitute the base references of the studies on territory, conflict, conflicts, traditional fishing communities and socio-territorial movements, used in this work. The methodological design of the research has a qualitative character, anchored in the content analysis of the subjects, referring to the news in newspapers, websites, or news blogs, as well as the news from the Data Bank of the DATALUTA Network. The research is complemented with semi-structured interviews carried out with the participants of the movement, with representatives of the fishermen's colony (Z-32), partners identified during the research and with the local government. The narratives of the movement and other subjects involved in the conflict will be taken into account in order to understand this process.
