SUMMARY:

This research will address the experience of an informal trade, under the molds of the old peddling, having as a starting point the municipality of Tenente Ananias/RN, branching out through the North and Northeast of Brazil, in order to understand the logic of local initiatives, how the mass of workers in the country was formed and shaped. This, from the abolition of slavery and the period of industrialization, the changes in consumption patterns and the consequences that these historical facts brought to the labor market, that is, informality. It will have as General Objective: Investigate how the informal installment trade circuit is reproduced from the municipality of Tenente Ananias/RN through the North and Northeast states and what are the economic and social ties that support such activity. The objectives that will guide the construction of this work will be based on three types of research: bibliographic, documentary and field. The research will be carried out through a scripted interview with a questionnaire applied directly to the families of crediarists (peddlers). Therefore, in order to verify the reproduction of the activity, the sampling technique known as “snowball sampling” will be chosen, verifying in the families the origin, motivation, evolution, circuits, bonds of trust, networks, reciprocity and reproduction of the peddling activity. The results may show the hypotheses that the studied group belongs to a strong social base, reinforcing the territory as a place where there is local construction based on history, social relations and identity, that there may be some bond of social rooting, through “strong ties”, where “economic action is socially situated”. And their actions can be immersed in concrete, continuous systems of social relations, that is, in social networks.
