THE CLOTHING CARE AND ITS RESISTANCE TO THE METAMORPHOSES OF THE WORLD OF WORK

This work has as its object of study the craft of shoemaker, an activity that has been losing space for the footwear industry, in addition to being directly impacted by recent technological changes. From this perspective, the research is directed to the remnants of the shoemaker's craft with the aim of tracing the trajectories of these professionals who remain in this activity, as well as identifying the elements that keep the workshops resistant to changes in the world of work. Thus, the researcher's curiosity moves towards answering the following question: how does the shoemaker's craft, considered an artisanal activity, resist the metamorphoses processed in the context of work in the transition from the 20th to the 21st century? It is hypothesized that shoemakers resist labor changes because craft work is part of a craft that is guaranteed by local traditions, meeting demands for repairs for a specific clientele that seeks the service, the sustainability of the family business, in addition to economic situation that does not favor the consumption of new shoes. As a general objective, the study proposes to analyze the craft of shoemaker and its permanence as a craft activity in the context of the metamorphosis of the world of work and the sanitary crisis in the transition from the 20th to the 21st century, in the city of Parnamirim, metropolitan region of the city of Natal, RN. For the development of the research, the methodological resource to be used as a means of obtaining primary data will be the life history, allowing greater autonomy to the interviewee regarding the report of their own experience. The use of this resource requires the construction of an interview script that will guide the collection of information with the collaborating subjects of the investigation, which will be five shoemakers who have their workshops in the urban center of Parnamirim, metropolitan region of Natal/RN, empirical cutout of the investigation. In addition to primary data, secondary sources will support the research. In this case, a theoretical framework about the theme in evidence, as well as articles and research.
