RESUMO:

The city of Parnamirim has its origin and development related to the aviation and later to the Brazilian Air Base (BANT), a unit of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) located in its territory. The implantation of BANT in the district of Natal has brought great displacement of people in search of opportunities, resulting, therefore, in the first agglomerations and contributing to improvements in the surroundings. A considerable portion of the population that settled in the locality was of military. The Military Villlage is a form of housing assistance granted by the Brazilian Air Force to its staff. The first bidding for the construction of the first 50 houses to "fix" the militaries in the region dates January 1945, at the beginning of the installation of BANT (1942-1946) in the field of Parnamirim, base for the foundation for the future city, that occurred in 1958. From the beginning of the construction of these first houses to the present day, the BANT, currently Ala10, allocates a large contingent of soldiers and their respective families who are moved to this region and are currently located in privileged locations, well served by equipment and public services. The objective of this research is to understand how the military structures of the Aeronautics, among them the villages, influenced in the urbanization and development of the city of Parnamirim-RN. The methodology to be used consists of a historical rescue with documentary research in the collection of the Museum of the Ala10 and the Aeronautical City Hall of Natal, as well as the systematization in database (spreadsheets) and maps with the location of military public equipment. The survey will also have the application of questionnaires for residents and managers of the villages located in the city. Preliminary analyzes show that the presence of military structures is part of the history and development of the city, and that the villages are webs, containing other structures of collective use for the military residents, besides being an important aid to the military that moves through the national territory.
