The transformations that occurred in the last decades reflected significantly in contemporary society. In this case, the changes, be they economic, political or social, focused on every level of everyday life, having a profound impact on how we work, live or behave. Amid these metamorphoses, cities - impacted by these changes - need to reinvent themselves to respond to problems typical of the modern world. In this way, creativity in the creative city begins to be valued, initially in areas of the private sector, with the premise of the creative environment, and later, it extends to the public sector and its other spaces. The idea of the creative environment is based on creativity-enhancing places where its structure - a city, a neighborhood or even a street - allows a plurality of subjects and a wide circulation of ideas, as well as promoting sociability and greater participation of agents. Regarding the child as an integral part of the corporate group, access to the city is still restricted to the space of the school and institutions to promote its protection and development. However, in observing the city of Natal-RN, one can see the availability of public spaces with great circulation of children. Children, as subjects of culture, even in the development phase, use parks and public facilities as a leisure and socialization option, and express themselves through play. Based on these considerations, and through a qualitative approach in which he drew on an ethnographic study, making use of several instruments, such as observation, oral reports, field notes, photography and as a complementary method, the interview. This study was carried out by the Dunas do Natal State Park, the Luiz Maria Alves Journalist (Parque das Dunas), the Cidade da Criança Park and the Francisco das Chagas Bezerra de Araújo Cultural Area (Panatis Leisure Area). such spaces and their relationship with the socialization, leisure and creativity of children in the city of Natal-RN, seeking to understand their social and cultural relevance in the context of contemporary cities. In this way, the interactions established by the children in each space were observed, either among the members of their own family or with other subjects, visitors of the researched places, as well as the types of games, use of toys and participation in the proposed activities. We also analyzed the oral reports of families, as well as the types of policies offered. As a result, it has been observed in all three environments that play is not restricted to the use of designed toys, but is given a new meaning by the children, who create new functionality, either by lack of maintenance or even by the inexistence of the toy. It was also observed that the socialization of the children happens spontaneously, motivated by the jokes, but that interactions are not always encouraged. As for the cultural, leisure and sport offer, there is no policy of continuity, regarding the demands of childhood, although the Parque das Dunas maintains projects in private public partnership, the activities in the other spaces surveyed happen sporadically, or even nonexistent in some places.
