RESUMO:

The transformations that occurred in the last decades reflected significantly in contemporary society. In this case, the changes have focused on all levels, whether social, political or economic, and have a profound impact on how we work, live or behave. Amidst these metamorphoses, cities - impacted by change - need to reinvent themselves to respond to problems typical of the modern world. In this way, in the contemporary city, creativity begins to be valued, initially in areas of the private sector, with the premise of the creative environment, and later, it extends to the public sector and its other spaces. The idea of the creative environment is based on creativity-enhancing places where its structure - a city, a neighborhood or even a street - allows a plurality of subjects and a wide circulation of ideas, as well as promoting sociability and greater participation of agents. In observing the city of Natal-RN, we can see the availability of public spaces with a large circulation of children. Children as subjects of culture, even in the development phase, access the city through the appropriation of certain areas. The viability of these places happens through public policies of leisure, sports, education and culture. In this sense, the purpose of this dissertation is to: the parks and public facilities of the city of Natal / RN with great circulation of children and their dimension with the creativity and sociability of these subjects, since these spaces are frequently demanded in the current context of the cities. This research has a qualitative nature and is structured in an ethnographic study, making use of instruments such as observation, oral reports and field notes, with the semi-structured interview as well as the use of photography as a complementary method. In this sense, the study refers to the Francisco das Chagas Bezerra de Araújo Cultural Area (Panatis Recreation Area), Cidade da Criança Park and the Dunas do Natal State Park. Journalist Luiz Maria Alves (Parque das Dunas), with the objective of reflecting on the public spaces and their equipment and their relation with the socialization, leisure and creativity of the children in the city of Natal-RN, seeking to understand their social and cultural relevance in the context of contemporary cities. As results, it is expected with the description, to understand what the relations established in these spaces and to what extent, these places can contribute to the development of the creativity in these subjects.
