RESUMO:

The process of urbanization in the contemporary world contemplates several questions, among them the process of metropolization, the expansion of urban land and the metropolitan dynamics. In Brazil, new territorial configurations can be observed, as can be observed in urban agglomerations, that often the municipal limits are exceeded, causing a change in the dynamics of the territory. In this sense, the general objective of the research is to understand the territorial expansion and the dynamics of the commuting flows of the Grande Teresina Ride, considering as a guiding element the location of the housing complexes of the PMCMV distributed in that territory. Firstly, to carry out the research, a bibliographical survey will be made on the theoretical and conceptual subsidies considered pertinent to the development of the theme, so that research can be based. Subsequently, a methodological proposal will be carried out, based on each specific objective in order to collect the results and interpret them. The partial results of the research reveal a trend towards urban expansion based on the location of the PMCMV housing complexes and a possible change in the metropolitan dynamics in the Grande Teresina Ride.
