RESUMO:

Since its founding in the early 1960s, the public areas, especially the super-block of the region Urban Social Center, in the Cidade da Esperança neighborhood of Natal / RN have interacted with their users through the provision of recreational, sports, Cultural and vocational training. The events resulting from this interaction allowed for the preservation of these areas, thus contributing to social interaction in the neighborhood. However, there is a certain distance from the inhabitants of these spaces of human relations by virtue of their change of function through the installation of institutional equipment. In view of the above, it is questioned: How did the buildings built to house new activities contribute to alienating the local population from the spaces of community use existing in the area of the former Urban Social Center and the activities that they congregated? Thus, the object of study is about the transformations in the built urban space and its relationship with the new directions of collective life. The main objective is to understand the influence of the spatial-spatial factors of the urban dynamics on the (re) structuring of the inhabitants' daily life, in order to feed the discussion about the interference of public policies and interventions in the places of sociability of the city. The motivation to approach this theme was based on the empirical observation of the author, when experiencing part of the transformations experienced by it. With this, it was noticed that the site has since the foundation a strong identity regarding the use of public spaces. Based on reflections undertaken by Ana Fani Carlos, Lobato Corrêa, Henri Lefebvre, Agnes Heller, José Magnani, Niara Palma, Angelo Serpa, Luís Ribeiro, Adauto Cardoso and Ermínia Maricato, among others, will be approached aspects related to the following concepts: Social Agents Modelers of urban space; Everyday Life, Place, Urban Dynamics transformer of collective spaces of life. Finally, the methodological approach adopted seeks to combine the precepts established by the method of ethnographic research in a historical perspective, also using various techniques, such as participant observation, photoetnography, interviews, data collection, mapping and plant analysis
