TELEVISION MEDIA AND THE MELODRAMA OF SALVATION: WOMEN IN ARTICLES ON THE STREET SITUATION OF RECORD TV.

The research has as its main objective to analyze the telejournalistic narratives about homeless women, understood as a heterogeneous group of women who have no fixed address and use the streets as a place to live. The programs "Câmera Record" and "Repórter Record Investigação", both broadcast by Record TV, will be analyzed, seeking to understand how these stories are told to the public and what meanings they produce. For this, a survey of the editions produced between the years 2017 and 2022 was carried out, adding up to eleven stories, which constitute the corpus of analysis. The time period was chosen based on the problematic of the street situation, which has worsened over the years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the drop in the Human Development Index (HDI) in the country. The work uses a combination of the methodologies of Film Analysis (PENAFRIA, 2009); Content Analysis, based on BARDIN (2011) and Intersectional Roulette, proposed by CARRERA (2020). The research categorizes and analyzes the reports produced by the programs specified here make use of a predominantly melodramatic language to present the situations of social vulnerability to which these women are subjected.
