SUMMARY:

The investigation into how motherhood can influence and cross photographic artwork moves the research. The social functions and representations associated with a woman mother are tensioned along the way through text and images. Photography is understood as a process of mediation and as a language, by enabling the expression of meanings and the communication of ideas and thoughts. I analyze the artistic practice in photography starting from contemporary discussions and produce a dissertation-creation written in the first person singular in a methodological approach with postmodern ethnography and autoethnography, in which the articulation of theoretical discussion with empirical discussion is done through of a dialogue with authors and authors. The three chapters accommodate the photographic works "Corpo", "Acolhida'', "Experimento Miguel", "32ml" and "O leite do fim" made by me as a mother-body. The research brings together the concepts of photography and performance, as well as the condition of mother to a social performance. The photographic artistic productions intend to confront the traditional representations of motherhood in contemporary times.
