SUMMARY:
The fires that occurred in August 2019 in the Amazon region, that characterized the most incendiary month in the biome in nine years, received a great coverage in Brazil and in the world. The Jornal Nacional, TV newscast that reaches 19 million viewers every day in Brazil, reverberated the fires with emphasis. This dissertation, using parameters of the methods of content analysis and convergent televisual analysis, investigate what are the editorial guidelines of the narrative conducted by the major TV newscast from Globo broadcaster about the topic and your adequation to the concepts of environmental journalism.
