RESUMO:

This research investigates the participation of bands exclusively composed by women at Natal's independent rock music scene in three different midiatic epochs. By using music scenes concept coined by Will Straw (1991), as well as the interpretations of Brazilian researchers such as Jeder Janotti (2013), Simone Pereira de sá (2011; 2013) and Luciana Xavier de Oliveira (2018), a panorama is constructed crossing Natal's history and identity to arrive at the independent rock music scene acting in the city ever since the 1960's (PINHEIRO and PINHEIRO, 2011; PINHEIRO and PINHEIRO, 2009). Through an analysis of gender and feminism (BUTLER, 2018; RUBIN, 2017; BEAUVOIR, 1967), the final work's object intends to portray the activities of three bands: As Gatas, in 1966; Darma, in 2005; and demonia in 2017. By speaking about the activities and the uses that each one of them did of the available media in each historical moment, it is intended to evidence the feminine production of this the independent rock music scene from Natal.
