RESUMO:

The focus of this research is on the Rural Education Station of Natal, with an emphasis on the oral history of professional

s and volunteers who conducted the radio between 1958 and 2018. The historical legacy has a bearing on the 

authors Fávero (2009), Medeiros (2013), Ferrari (1968), Pretto and Tosta (2010), Carvalho (2009), 

Ferraretto (2001) and Lima (1984). Concerning the transformations of radio, logics and media operations, these 

are based on the concepts of Sodré (2003), Martin-Barbero (2003), Canclini (2013), Castells (2005) and 

Kischinhevsky (2016). The path taken in this research, based on the theory and methodology of oral history, is 

anchored in the works of Calabre (2016), Mauad (2016), Barbosa (2016), Meihy (2002) and Martino (2008), 

guiding the text in the institution of diffusion and its characters, rescuing a significant part of the communicational 

events and bringing to light representative characters of the radio potiguar, through their memory from the studies 

of Chartier (2014a, 2014b), Burke (1992), Ricoeur (2000) and again Mauad (2016). In the narratives of the memoirs

 of the characters through Recurring oral history which is a premeditated procedure of producing historical 

knowledge, involving the interviewer, the interviewee and the recording equipment, the research, through the 

construction of sources and documents, will register, through of induced and stimulated narratives, testimonies, 

versions and interpretations about the legacy of the Rural Radio of Natal over 60 years going through its 

transformations in this period.
