RESUMO:

The research investigates the affection as a tool of persuasion in the speech of presenter Carlos Alberto de Sousa, 

politician and entrepreneur, founder of TV Ponta Negra, that in the late 1980s and early 1990s led an auditorium 

program called the Carlos Alberto Program Sousa on the station. Our cut will be three full programs, which aired 

respectively in the years 1987, 1990 and 1991. Through discourse analysis, part of the codes that link the two sides

 of the screen in an environment of assistance, entertainment and politics. As a theoretical reference, we will use 

authors such as Sodré (1975, 1977, 2002, 2006), Gomes (2004), Lima (2001), Bourdieu (1997), Merton and 

Lazarsfeld ). As a main methodological tool, we will use Discourse Analysis, particularly based on the concepts of 

forgetfulness described by Orlandi (1999) and Pêcheux (2014). The methodology also includes bibliographic 

research, documentary, oral history and videographic research with the collection of the broadcaster.
