RESUMO:

This research develops a cartography of the audiovisual scene in the State of Paraíba, Brazil, in its quantitative and qualitative aspects. When we talk about mapping, it is broadening what is meant by mapping the audiovisual production of Paraíba. Mapping will show what is relevant in the territory studied. In this research we will make a descriptive documentary record of all the actions within the mapped territory. We will show the social aspects, the influences of the groups and points of contact between audiovisual producers. What they address in their productions, what appears in captured images (the possibilities of landscape changes in productions). The research will analyze the macro context and within each productive territory will seek the motivational gradients of audiovisual production. This will generate a moving and relevant map that will guide the public policies and the future audiovisual producers of Paraíba and Northeast of Brazil. For this purpose, we have as objectives: 1) to reflect on the role of audiovisual in communicative and cultural citizenship; 2) analyze the history of the municipal, state and federal public policies focused on the audiovisual in the State of Paraíba. We will build a map of the production chain; as well as constuct a scenery of the processes of mediatization of groups and entities of civil society from audiovisual production. The methodological path comes from the transmetology, with approximations between the cartography and the ethnography, through the technique of participant observation. The research was developed predominantly from the reading of Milton Santos, Alberto Efendy Maldonado, Graeme Turner, Fernando Trevas Falcone and Wills Leal. It seeks a distance from the perspective of audiovisual production as a cultural industry of hegemonic model of entertainment. We focus on the exchanges and partnerships in the construction of public policies and actions within the festivals to expand audiovisual production in Paraíba.
