It is purpose in this essay to understand the lived and (re)interpreted senses in the comments of Tribuna do Norte Facebook page about the event Alcaçuz, the rebellion occurred in January 2017 at the  Alcaçuz state penitentiary, at the NisiaFloresta county, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The concept of event has been used to refer to the facts that erupt the routines of the subjects and society in which they are insert and that induce some kind of rupture with the ordinary. These events are noticed by the society that talks about them and inaugurates interactions from them. Besides, they become increasingly complex in its symbolic dimension, when the media and its logic begins to cross the ones of other domain, not only due to the visibility regime that it offers, but also because they configure as a space of sociability and interaction. In this sense, it elects as a theoretical contribution to the pragmatist approach of the event, especially the comprehension of the symbolic dimension and its hermeneutic and affectation powers(QUÉRÉ, 2012; FRANÇA, 2012b; LOPES, FRANÇA, 2017). The method applied for the commentaries analysis is the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), with emphasis in the three-dimensional framework (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001), specifically in the concepts of intertextuality, interdiscursivity and coherence in dialogues with the modes of operation of ideology (THOMPSON, 2009). The data collect was accomplished in Tribuna do Norte’s pages posts, in the social media website Facebook, corresponding the period from 14 to 20 January 2017, which culminated in 25.726 commentaries. From them, it was achieved 805 discursive sequences and it was elected to the analysis the most representative one from each day of collect, which totalized seven discursive sequences and 191 commentaries. In the analysis, it was performed a critical reading of eachdiscursive sequence and, then, a synthesis of the mainly senses that Alcaçuz, in its symbolic dimension, made emerge by means of the constituted public over there. The investigation reveals that the commentary area of Tribuna do Norteon Facebook, featured as a performance space for the hate discourse against the inmates.The predominance of this kind of discourse in Alcaçuz circulation minimizes the uncertainties that it inaugurates and the implications of its occurrence in the society life, gives margin to the confrontation of the event as something fun, and naturalizes the barbarism when it denies the dignity of the individuals who occupy the position of inmates and when it removes the strength of the powers charged by the event.
