RESUMO:

The present research aims to understand the making sense of mediation, appropriation and visibility of leisure from Instagram´s images. Our discussion problematizes the representation of leisure towards the visualities of this practice expressed by using the leisure hashtag and other related tags that fuel the interaction mechanisms between the profiles and their nets within digital media. Looking forward to identifying the link between the senses established by such appropriation and new meanings of the contemporary leisure pictures. It is also intended to lead the idea of the mediatized leisure on Instagram, as it is a global ambience with diverse expressions of social groups and individuals that consume, get informed by, manifest and (re)produce contents through images. Methodologically, it is about a first approximation, based on the ethnographic observation within social media, constituted by a descriptive research followed by a social network analysis approach and discursive relation. The research denoted the link between media and leisure as something cultural as well as an attachment to consumption, which sustain the culture and structure connected on the web. The articulated systematizations point out the importance of perceptions and representations of the user or person that appropriates the media as a producer of a new production space of contents and, in that sense, fuels and feeds back contents regarding leisure, giving a new meaning to social practices when catching sight of perceptible means of leisure visualized on the web.
