RESUMO:

This research proposes reflexions about the perception of time in different periods of communication technologies evolution, such as: (1) the period of newspapers, magazines, radio and the cinema predominance, (2) the period of the TV  expansion in Brazil and (3) the period that consists of the expansion of the use of internet and the advent of satellite television. Thus, it discusses the perception of time through the social practices of three different generations: the 30's, the 60's and the 90's. The empirical basis consists of interviews according to the Oral History techniques  and also to Michel de Certeau's hermeneutics approach.  The theoretical basis of  this article brings the thoughts of  Norval Baitello Junior, David Harvey, Renato Ortiz, Stephen Bertman and Paul Virilio.
